[attr="class,"bioentry"]There's more than meets the eye in the case of Willard Grimsbane, but two things you'll never forget are that he's patient and resourceful. Of course he's also dedicated, understanding and sympathetic, but they're often slightly tainted by a mindset of being lazy as well.
His patience though, this is what he's most popular for. People regularly count on this and his individualism whenever they need assistance or help (even though most of his siblings are adults now they often call him several times a day for advice).

He is faithful to his fellow Shadowhunters, family, and the underdogs that are the downworlders. Caring and kind are also what make Willard, some say he is often to kind to a fault and easily to forgive. Willard has a high heir of honor about him and a good sense of control over emotion. Willard is a lover and fighter, and it isn't a rumor, everyone knows it and they've seen it. It is a known fact. He won't deny if asked. He is the huge protector especially when it comes to his siblings wasting not a single thought to give his own life for theirs.

Nobody's perfect of course and Willard has plenty of character faults too. His disorderliness and maliciousness pose plenty of problems and just affect all around negatively.
Fortunately his resourcefulness is there to relift spirits when needed.

hobbies: cooking (he has been cooking since he was seven) so he likes to learn new things to cook for the Institute. he collects old viking relics, western/cowboy themed things, and just plays his guitar

dreams: to continue the Grimsbane family line, be a better Shadowhunter just like his Dad

willard waylon grimsbane was born in Alabama, not on purpose but a trip for his father's job which was as you guessed was being a Shadowhunter. The Grimsbane family is an old Shadowhunter family, his dad is Wilton Grimsbane and Ellie Grimsbane his mom previously a Dawncrest a large prominent family from their homeland Idris. Willard is the first born out of eight other siblings. His folks decided to finally plant their roots right there in Montgomery, Alabama.[break][break]

Wilton, or Big Will, travelled all over in the name of a true Shadowhunter. Ellie is the head of a Institute in Montgomery, Alabama. Willard being the oldest was responsible for his siblings most of the time when it came to their early mornings, training, studies, bed time, snacks, and general day to day stuff. This continued on until Willard was twelve where he was given the choice to remain at the Montgomery Institute or he could pick another Institution to travel for the experience of being "pushed from the nest" to continue training. It wasn't easy to pick, so their terms (with permission) was that the next three eldest (Wade, Eleanor, Wren) could also continue their studies with Willard at his school choice. The country boy settled on New York over two foreign choices.[break][break]

The siblings transferred and it took a while for them to adjust to city life, Wade eventually went back home. Things took a dramatic turn when Willard's dad passed away, it wasn't a demon or downworlder but an everyday mundane with sight that was diagnosed by a mundane doctor as schizophrenia. Wilton had just come home, stopping to grab flowers, the mundane mistook Wilton for a vision or trick and shot Wilton. It was a mundane gun, mundane bullet, and a mundane death. Willard and his siblings attended the funeral, he stayed for a month to help sort the families affairs, Wren remained behind to help.[break][break]

When they returned to New York Eleanor asked if Willard would be her parabatai a bond that ran deeper than just their sibling bond, he proudly accepted and they were shortly given the marks. Willard was a valuable asset in the field especially with Eleanor by his side, he also loved to cook so he was given the job of cooking for the NY institute at eighteen (a position he proudly holds today).[break][break]

While he may only cook as his official title, Willard the ever so loved hick shadowhunter does various odds and ends around the New York institute where he and Eleanor are mainstays. They hunt all around the Five boroughs as well.
